Sherry Marger is a passionate acrylic landscape painter whose artistic journey has been shaped by a lifelong love of travel and creativity.

She holds a bachelor's degree in art education and began her career teaching junior high school art. Over the years, her talent for representational art has evolved through observation and participation in workshops led by artists across diverse regions.

Sherry's artistic focus is what she calls "Destination Art", a celebration of the places that inspire her. Working primarily in an impressionistic style with acrylics, she begins each piece with plein air watercolor sketches created on location. These studies serve as the foundation for her finished works, completed in her studio on canvas or paper. Often, she just takes photos and translates them into a painting when she is back in her studio. She is constantly improving on her techniques with a much looser style utilizing palette knives and large brushes.

Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions in Orange County, California, under the Destination Art title. In 2015, her paintings were showcased at John Wayne Airport as part of the Community Focus Space program. Currently, her work is on display at City of Hope in Irvine and the new UCI Medical Center has purchased 13 of her images for permanent display throughout the facility.

Sherry is also deeply committed to using her art for good. She is involved in Homes in Memoriam, a heartfelt project in which she paints portraits of homes lost in California wildfires. to day, she has completed 36 paintings, offering them as meaningful keepsakes to those who have lost everything.

Her paintings are held in private collections across the United States - including California, New Jersey, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon and Washington - as well as internationally in Sweden.

“Balboa's Best" is representative of her most works painted during 2022, the Covid Quarantine Period when travel was non-existent.
